Smoke can be seen for miles and a relatively small portion of field crops is inevitably burned out for good. Still, the lost maize is the least of the Louisiana State Police's concerns. The sinister atmosphere intensifies as the sirens of police cars are coming howling to a large lonesome tree. Some macabre deed just happened here a few hours ago. Two old detectives are about to witness the most baffling and peculiar case in their professional lives. One of the detectives is rather averting his gaze, knowing that the crime scene is just too much for his eyes.
The look on the face of this detective in the foreground appears to be so dejected as well as gloomy that it completely underlines the environment of oppressive ambience. The other detective, on the other hand, is steadily examining the place near the tree. Some odd-looking twig latticeworks attached to the tree make the whole message of its instigator even more creepy. One detective feels obviously disgusted by all this, but the other seems to be perilously curious and hooked by this case. Anything but optimistic.
Firstly I must say that I was disappointed that you didn't choose a picture with a depressed monkey. Just kidding. Your picture is so gloomy and horrifying and to be honest, it scares me a little bit, especially the detective's face. I can imagine the exact scene of horror on the background of this picture. Brr.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it. Thank you for your comment. :)
DeleteHey! Awesome picture, I love it - especially the graphics. Does it have anything to do with that tv show True Detective you told me about? It sure looks like it..you know..two detectives, solving a crime, investigating the crime scene, dark atmosphere etc..huh!!! And now I've realized that the show takes place in Louisiana as well! Oh I'm so blond :) I got it, I got it..
ReplyDeleteThanks, Yop, you guessed it right! You are really nifty. Seriously. :)
DeleteYou describe the dark atmosphere marvelously. I think it is great. And as it is said above, the depiction of the picture is very nice. I guess that without the picture your story wouldn´t be so dark and gloomy. I like this kind of dark horror stories and your post is very catchy. I think I would read a whole book in this style. So keep writing :).
ReplyDeleteThank you for your positive comment. I appreciate it. :)
DeleteWhat happens next? Are they going to use some kind of pseudo-genius stream of thoughts to find out what the signs of twigs mean? Is there a pattern in the way they were arranged? Only the maize or also the lonesome tree was burnt? What is the man hiding, what is the hideous truth behind his back?
ReplyDeleteOh damn, I can’t find the answers just by looking at the pic. I guess you just roused my serious interest in this series. Breaking Bad, being my favourite, needs a replacement now. I have been putting it off for too long. I hope that it’s as good as the reviewers say…
There are no spoilers whatsoever. Just give it a try. Thank you for your comment.
DeleteAmazing pic, indeed! I started watching that everybody-talking-about-it show yesterday, and as far as the pilot is concerned, there is not much to dislike. Having been afraid of possible spoilers, I did not read it all, but the truth to be told, i like the way you express your ideas, it's very colorful and vivid, you better start thinking of being something... like writter or shit like that O.o Take care!
ReplyDeleteOh, you can read it... I did not write anything about the plot.Thank you for your positive comment. Peace out!
